Picture where the car parks
Note whether you park in a garage, carport or open driveway, and roughly how far that spot is from your switchboard. Distance and wall type are two of the biggest factors in the installation.
Check your supply and switchboard
Open the meter box and look at the main switch and breakers. Take note of their age and whether the supply looks single or three-phase, and whether you have solar or a battery connected.
Choose a charger type
Decide between a universal Type 2 charger, a Tesla Wall Connector or a solar-aware unit, or note that you would like advice. If you have already bought a charger, keep the model name handy.
